About

“Every child is an artist until he’s told he’s not an artist.”

— John Lennon

Kevin Seabrooke is a self-taught artist living in Front Royal, Va.

I can’t remember a time when I haven’t mentally framed the world around me as a photo or a drawing and, much later, a painting. Driving down the highway or hiking on Massanutten Mountain or in Shenandoah National Park, I’m always looking for patterns and shapes, sometimes becoming intoxicated by the light. Many of my  latest works originate from a frenzied hour one afternoon when the light was “just right” that found me pulling over on rural roads and running to capture views I knew I had to try to paint.
